Welbeing

The Wellbeing Team are a dedicated team of well-trained staff who are available to support pupils at all times of the school day. The team includes 3 Thrive practitioners and a Team Teach Tutor. A range of pro-active strategies are available to support pupils who have social emotional and mental health issues. Individual and group support is based around Thrive. The team also includes the Looked After Child Mentor who works with specific children. The support they provide includes rebound therapy, hydrotherapy, class observations, individual mentoring, advice for parents and 1:1 intensive work with pupils.

They can also provide reactive support for pupils who become dis-regulated during the day. The Wellbeing room offers a calm and supportive space which is always available to pupils who are in need of support. Some pupils visit the wellbeing room on a regular basis as part of a structured programme of support whilst others will access services according to need. Wellbeing Triage is a formal meeting which convenes every week to review the support being given through Wellbeing. The Triage meeting allows key staff to prioritise those pupils in most need of support. Any member of staff is able to refer pupils to Triage. The Triage Team, which includes the Safeguarding Lead, School Nurse and music therapist, are able to draw on a range of interventions including referrals to outside agencies.
