Activities & Trips
As part of our music provision at Regency High School, we work with Severn Arts to provide an Open Orchestra for our pupils. Open Orchestra is behind the largest community of inclusive ensembles in the UK. It provides a wonderful space for students to develop musical abilities, confidence and team work skills. We currently have an orchestra of over 20 students and we look forward to seeing it grow and develop even more!

Young Voices

Pupils from Key Stage 3 had a wonderful time at Young Voices 2023. This is always a spectacular event and this year was no exception. Students danced, sang and performed alongside pop legend Heather Small! A fantastic time was had by all, and all pupils represented Regency High School wonderfully and should be very proud of themselves. Well done everyone!

Careers and Life Beyond School

Through the careers programme pupils in KS5 have been able to experience work placements, at Fairfield day nursery, Sainsburys, Little Owl Farm, Suzanne Preece Hair Salon, and Droitwich Leisure Centre. KS5 pupils have been out at Mazak, completing the Bronze Industrial Cadets programme, enabling them to gain an insight into the world of work in engineering.

Year 9, KS4&5 pupils have attended the first Worcestershire Inclusive Life beyond school event which was held at the Worcester Warriors. Pupils were able to experience encounters with further education settings, training settings, apprenticeship programmes, supported internship programmes and local employers such as West Midlands Safari Park.

KS3 pupils have welcomed visits from the Air Ambulance and Kidderminster College, allowing students to understand different opportunities in further education and community roles.

In the Summer term pupils from Year 9 – KS5 attend the Regency life beyond school event. This event allows our pupils, parents, and careers to explore the many providers accessible for life beyond school. We welcome 22 different providers on to our school site for the afternoon and early evening informing our young people of the many opportunities on offer for them. Pupil’s complete questionnaires about the different provisions and it is a great opportunity for pupils to meet new people and develop their communication and interaction skills.

In the Autumn term pupils across school can access the Regency employer’s skills event. We welcome employers to Regency to talk about their jobs and companies providing our pupils with an insight to what happens in different settings and the many variations of work.

In year 10/11 our pupils experience Mock Interviews with support from local companies. We have welcomed visits from South Co, who have delivered interview and application advice to our students in a class session. Pupils were very inquisitive and asked lots of questions about what makes a good applicant and how Suzanne got her job at South Co.

Throughout the Careers programme at Regency, we try and provide visits into the community to see the roles of others in action. These have included trips to our local emergency services, shops, libraries and hospitals

Summer Fayre

The Friends of Regency were delighted to organise the school’s Summer Fayre in July 2022.
Each class was given a stall to set up and run – stalls included face painting, a tombola, “Guess the Lucky Square”, target games, a treasure hunt and the popular “Soak the teacher”, amongst many others. We also had some fantastic prizes for these stalls.
The Sixth Formers organised refreshments as well as a tuck shop and a cake stall. We also had an ice-cream van on site.
This event was very well attended by the parents, carers, friends and families of our students, and we raised an amazing £1,000 for our charity.

DofE Award 2023

In KS4, year 11 pupils have the offer to complete the Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award during their outdoor learning lessons. Over the course of the year pupils develop their camping, cooking and navigating skills, working in a team with other peers. To pass the award, pupils complete their volunteering, physical and skill sections, finishing the year on a two-day expedition covering 13 miles and camping, self-sufficient overnight. This offer, is an amazing experience for our learners, who all thoroughly enjoy the new challenge this brings. Learners take deep pride in achieving this Award.
