Trustees
The academy trust is a charitable company and so trustees are both charity trustees (within the terms of section 177(1) of the Charities Act 2011) and company directors.
The Trust Board is made up of the Trustees who are the individuals appointed to challenge and scrutinise the strategic direction and day-to-day running of the company (the Trust). They are the accountable body for the Trust and have three functions:
- Ensure clarity of vision, ethos, and strategic direction
- Hold the executive to account for the educational performance of the trust and their pupils, and the performance management of staff
- Oversee the financial performance of the Trust and make sure its money is well spent
The Trust Board has the right to review and adapt its governance structure at any time, including removing delegation. Accordingly, the Trustees will review the Scheme of Delegation annually and alter any provision.
The Full Governing Body at Regency High School comprises 12 Trustees / Governors, including the Headteacher, teaching and non-teaching staff, parents, and volunteers from the local community. The Curriculum Committee and Resources Committee each meet every half-term and report to the Full Governing Body which meets six times each academic year.
